Tasks
1) We used GIS to
identify study sites. We selected representative deciduous
and coniferous stream reaches from 1st-2nd, 3rd-5th, and
6th-7th order streams.
2) We collected periphyton
on artificial substrates placed at all sites sites.
3) Spring and fall
periphyton samples will be collected. Algae will be identified
and enumerated.
4) We placed nutrient
diffusing media at selected sites to measure N and P limitation
in situ.
